1. Remove the battery pack and loosen the screws with a small Phillips screwdriver.

|
2. To open the Stylistics case insert a flat screwdriver at the left side in the vicinity of the headset and microphone sockets and carefully lift the wall over these connectors.

|
3. Remove the bottom part of the case by moving it to the right side while avoiding excessive force to the PCMCIA eject levers.
4. The harddisk is hidden under a small circuit panel, which is mounted with a single screw to the case. The speaker just sits without any connectors in its housing. Loosen both and lift the circuit panel.

|
5. The harddisk is hold in its position solely by the IDE bus connection. Unmount it carefully with a small screwdriver and remove the disk. (The drive might stick a litte to the shock dampening rubber/plastic cushions!)

|
6. To connect the harddrive to an other computer you need a 2.5" to 3.5" IDE adapter (I purchased one at eBay for less than 10 €.).
Pin 1 on the harddisk is positioned next to the master/slave selector jumper and must be connected to the red marked side of the computers IDE cable.
The power cables of the adapter should be on the opposite side.
You can although check for the correct orientation by comparing the position of the missing pin in the middle of the socket.
N.B.: Alternativly you could connect the disk to a notebook without the adapter, since 2.5" drives are used here as well.
